Lumba Sumba Trek is an off the beaten trail located at the eastern part of Nepal.  The Lumba Sumba Trek is perfect for those trekkers who have enough time and ultimate desire to endeavor into less trodden remote region of Himalayas beyond regular trekking routes. This trek combines quite but comfortable lodges accommodation with large back-country camping.

The Lumba Sumba Pass Trek was only opened in 2012 so it is a relatively unknown trek. The trek connects the Kanchenjunga Region and Makalu Region via the Lumba Sumba Pass, and runs through the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area and the Makalu Barun National Park in the eastern part of the country and can be done in one of two directions: starting in either Kanchenjunga or in Makalu.

With spectacular grandeur of nature and Himalaya landscapes, the non touristy trail to Lumba Sumba follows the alpine grasslands, rocky outcrops, dense temperate and sub-tropical forest and low-river valleys. The Lumba Sumba Pass Trek offers good scope of exploration and discovery, trekkers encounter different species of birds and wildlife including snow leopard and red panda.
